“Tilt the Window: See It Another Way”- “Kantel het Raam: Kijk Opnieuw ”
120 cm x120 cm, Acrylic on panel
This work reflects on polarization — how our perspectives shape what we see, especially in a world fractured by crisis, climate, and competing truths. Two people can stand before the same window and witness entirely different realities: one sees collapse, another sees resilience.
The window hasn’t changed. Only the angle has.
Tilt the Window invites us to reconsider what we’ve been looking at — and how we’ve been looking. It doesn’t demand agreement. It asks for awareness. Because if you’re willing to shift — even slightly — you might find something unexpected. And if you want to, you can see hope.
My VONDEKPARK SERIES has moved to Bloemendaal, where it will be on show on the Kerkplein at @alldente dental practice. The “Vondelpark for everyone” series visualizes connection. It is fascinating to see how everyone seems to feel at home in Amsterdam, which is visually tangible in the Vondelpark. So that is why i took my sketchbook to observe people in the parc and draw their connection. The works are NO PORTRAITS, because the people simultaneously represent everyone and nobody. The scenes however reveal just enough to seduce the viewer to imagine their own story. So foster your sentimental journey and remember your own hanging out-time in the parc 😍
We have joined forces as a group of figurative artists and are exhibiting together under the name FIGS. The WACKERS ACADEMIE for figurative art is our common foundation, our metaphorical fig tree from which we have branched out into DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. During the exhibition we will display the fruits of our growth process.
Onze derde groepstentoonstelling werd geopend door een van onze grote inspiratoren en tevens mijn begeleider, Sam Drukker met een bijzondere speech
March 27th until May 5th 2024 our second group exhibition DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS at Expoost in Hoorn.
Did you know why in the 18th century curators chose to cover the wall with a mosaic of paintings? They wanted to encourage visitors to interact, to watch and compare, to search for the connection between the works, understand the narrative and stimulate conversations
